Class (23) Info & Comms (4) Wednesday 03/12/08: Exam time We’ve started so we’ll finish, many thanks to all of the good people whom I’ve gotten to know over the last 12 weeks. I enjoyed every minute of it and I hope that you have received the knowledge and that you can believe in yourself more now no matter what. Your not your own worst critic anymore thats not your job anymore, believe in yourself. There is no class without you, many thanks.

Class (21) Info & Comms (2) Monday 26/11/08: We cover from the copy url text and image to document to nearly the last section on page 34. We setup an email address with Ballyfermot.ie and set it up in Outlook horray!
Class (20) Info & Comms (1) Monday 24/11/08: Last Module so turn up and enjoy yourself, apart for Andrew of course, who has to do Module 3 Word with me or somebody else on the very next ECDL course, Horray! Okay so covered the History of the Internet and all of the required terms for the exams the breakdown of a url and other stuff. Not too much of the Manual covered up to page 22 copy url text and image to document.
Class (19) Access (3) Wednesday 19/11/08: Exam time Everybody passed with excellent scores first time Horray for you all!, Thanks to the two who turned up for their resits on thursday at 2pm, they also passed the three in total of exam resits. No thanks to the person who did not turn up for her resit, not impressed at all, as it is that’s another fail. There will be a charge of €35 for any further no shows.

Class (17) Access (1) Monday 10/11/08: Database, dont miss the first class. Pages 1 - 23 The intro went quite beautifully don’t you think all the way from theory too designing a database from scratch to creating your first and then second tables which with then linked with a relationship. Sweet.

Class (15) IT Theory (1) Monday 03/11/08 First class don’t miss it, Yes well you did didn’t you all the crack with questions 1 - 111 and only 39 to go, so guess what, thats right exam time on Wednesday night, horray!
Class (14) File management (3) TEST Time once again Wednesday 29/10/08 Test 2.1 I think that was a gimme of an exam really, it had to be the easiest so far, would anybody agree. If you weren’t there its an automatic fail i’m afraid. I think everybody who turned up did fine (6 people) Everybody Passed well done and enjoy the Hallo’s eve celebrations, see you monday

We covered Mock Test 1 also in the class. Make sure that you now look at Mock test 2 and cover all of the Multiple choice questions (answers on the back page, *ahem*)

How to use your operating system effectively, where are all the special settings? find out tonight. We covered a lot of special settings, just remember that its not the left click that will give you the answer. Pages covered 1-50 pages. Class (10) Powerpoint (2) Monday 13/10/08:Advanced crap as promised, All about Masterslides, Moving, coping and deleting objects, pictures and text in the same slideshows and in between open slideshows, drawing objects, rotate or flip horizontally or vertically, edit placeholder text, created and edit charts, edit organisational charts, apply custom design templates from folder, Insert automatically updating date/time or fixed date. Move or paste slides between open slideshows. Print as handouts 6 per page. And everything else I’ve forgotten to mention
Class (9) Powerpoint (1) Wednesday 08/10/06 6.00-8.30pmPage 3 top and page 9 i think (I’m doing this from memory) and Pages 23 up to page 40 are very important. Resits are to be arranged at your leisure all 4 of you, God i hate being right and a very well done to all of the passee’s and high rollers, much respect!
Newsflash:With the examiner on holidays i exspect the exams to be marked on Wednesday morning ish if were lucky. I expect some re-sits from the exam form, i’d say 4 people at least but then i’m a realist. It currently Wednesday 15.40pm and i’m waiting for your results. Still. The results are in
Class (8) Excel (3) is : Monday 06/10/08 6.00-8.30pm Exam time horray!?! Be warned , be ready and be good. We must cover P36 bottom, p 37 + 38 + 39 all, P87 - 95 all in class before our exams so read up them too as there are questions on these in the three assignments I gave out . Also read the wording carefully, this exactly how the exam will be worded. Get used to it and quickly, there is no other solution. We will attempt to cover as many of these before the exam as possible, time willing, and your exam will start at 7.30 at the latest
Class (7) Excel (2) Wednesday 01/10/08 6.00-8.30pm :Page 40 - 86 , Simple operators in simple arithmitic formulas (for 2 cells only)/ * - + for = that cell then *operator* and that cell for simple formulae, Absolute references with the dollar dollar man, Autosum *Sigma* button, function menu with Average, Min, Max and Count, logical IF, percent styles, autofilling formulae , increase and decrease decimal, currency , dates, comma and format cells , merge and centre, copy and pasting between worksheets, normal word style formating and alignments, outside borders , filing in cell background colours and using the format painter magic paint brush, creating Charts and editing charts, plus revision of everything from previous class during the lesson adlib.
Class (6) Excel (1) Monday 29-09-08: Yes its a brand new day and module, horray, Pages 1- 40 in the book up to formulas, exam critical P(ages) and Par(agraphs) P1 Par 1 *cough* not word, P6 Par last 2, P7 all, P8 top but its the PHic3 network drive, P9 Bottom 2 Par, P10 all *help* for you here, P11 all, P12 bottom amd nearly all P13, P15 all, P16 except top, P18 top, P19 top,P20-21-22-23-24-25 all, p26+ 27 are handy to know, P28 bottom P29. 30 +31 allP32 bottom, P34 useful in places, P35 bottom, P36-37-38-39 for next class, P40 with basic aritmitic formulaes =A2+B2 ( know how to select a cells and cell ranges, autofill lists, data and formulae) Practice study and be ready.
Newsflash: Congratulations to all who passed their Word 3.2 exam, very well done and three perfect scores to boot. on the downside the people who didn’t turn up have automatically failed the exam regardless of reason and the two people who found the test hard and struggled will have to resit. Resits will take place outside of class hours (before, not after) and must be arranged by yourselves. I will move on to Excel on Monday and the interested parties in resits will have to be ready for the exam and will have to fit into the Centres already busy schedule via the Boss’s okay. First class of Excel on Monday, don’t miss it, no really you’ll miss alot.

Mouse and seating Ergonomics, Start Menu functions, Icons, Subfolders and submenus. Program and file theory. Opening Microsoft Word, customising the toolbars and Saving a document to the Philip ECDL night networked drive, word templates, save as and open dialogue boxes, save as .txt and renaming files . Changing folder views and file extensions theory. Reading up to page 14 in the manual with practical on the spot examples and make sure you know the main keys of the keyboard from the handout!
