Hi folks, Comments are the true sign of fans, detractors or like minded people of your posted piece of work. Don’t forget to approve them or nobody else will comment unless its spam of course. Here’s how to manage them.
Managing your received comments ( hooray, people are reading my stuff and want to talk about it! )
If you receive a comment on a post of yours the first thing you will find is an email with many links in it appearing in your inbox. Probably the easiest thing to do now is to read the comment first, if it is proper English and makes it sense then its probably not spam. Next click on the last hyperlink in the email as this will send you to your blogs.ballyfermot.ie account ( where you sign in ) this will present you with three options in the manage comments section
1: Approve: this will allow the comment to appear below the story but only when you click on comments from the story on your blog, But if you accidentally do this it can be undone by unaproving it
2: Spam: this will mark the email address as computer generated garbage and you will not be bothered by email from there again. But if you accidentally do this, it can be undone in your spam filter in the manage comments section
3: Delete: this will erase the offending comment but not spam them, cannot be undone!
4: Visit your site to see the new comment or log out
How to Comment on another persons post ( You wish to comment on another’s post )
1: Look for the word Comments or a number (0, 1 ,2 etc) either to the left or the right of the post you wish to talk about and click on it
2: This will reload the story/post with all the viewable posts on the bottom of your screen, scroll down all of the existing posts if any and look for three small and one large dialogue boxes that you can type into
3: Enter your name (required) an any email address (required) and your comment in the largest dialogue box, the website one is optional
2: Click on the Submit Comment button and the owner of the Blog will have to follow the steps in “Managing your received comments” above top for you to see your comment on the website, so you’ll have to wait, boo.
