Intel Assumes That Humans Are Smart And Robots Have “Lofty” Goals

Intel imagines that there will be smart as human robots by 2050, oh dear. Intel’s senior researcher Jason Campell believes the with only 200 to 300 milliliter’s of catoms ( Computer Atoms to me and you) he could manage a “cell phone (that)is too big to fit comfortably in my pocket and too small for my fingers” is there something wrong with this analogy right here? and continues ” I could have it take on the shape of the device that I need at that moment ” Ermm… smaller fingers perhaps? Campbell also said, he could command it ” to …be a little squishy, so I can just drop it in my pocket.” this would be a sure fire hit with the “put your hand in there prank ” kids, an instant bestseller for Christmas.

Intel CEO Justin Ratner explains ” that Intel researchers are working to figure out how to harness millions of miniature robots, called catoms, so they could function as shape-shifting swarms ” So Intel want to ” let loose the dogs of war ” in an amorphous, polymorphic, changeling blob that eats wireless energy, can move independently and can understand commands in English on the World as a tool for the masses? nice, i can see absolutely nothing that could go wrong here, especially if its operating system will be Microsoft Vista for Micro Minds, multi licence of course.

Currently Intel ” are working on human-machine interfaces ” The Borg anybody? and “the lines between human and machine intelligence will begin to blur ” So I take it that this means Humans will get smarter while computers get dumber. Justin also states that these catoms ” can be programmed to take on the shape of anything from a cell phone to a shoe or even a human ” So there is still hope that a human shaped one will be send back through time to put a stop to this nonsense.

The scariest thing about this piece is that these men hold positions or respect and power and have huge wealth and influence. They could even run from the Presidency, could be an improvement right there.

Very funny, I found it quite interesting. However I wont say any more or we may all become robots.
