The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr Eamon Ó Cuív T.D.
is to attend the Ballyfermot Community & Civic Centre, Ballyfermot at 1.30 pm on Tuesday 3rd July 2007.
The purpose of the Ministers visit is to formally launch the Ballyfermot RAPID Web Page, hand over promotional cheque to the ten 2006 Dormant Accounts Additionality Fund recipients and promote the RAPID Programme success in Ballyfermot.
Ballyfermot RAPID Programme in association with the Ballyfermot IT Centre have developed a web page on the Ballyfermot.ie website which is intended to include latest news on funding, the five year plan, AIT news etc. We are currently compiling a list of contacts for funding opportunities.
Since RAPID came to Ballyfermot last June, the programme has been successful in securing funding from five government departments and various statutory agencies totalling over 3million euros for thirty three projects in the area. These projects range from IT, senior citizens, youth, travellers, sports, education and community facilities.
The Ballyfermot Area will benefit immensely from this investment with the people of Ballyfermot enjoying new community activities, facilities and projects which will enhance the living experience of all.
The production of the Ballyfermot RAPID Five Year Plan will target funding at specific gaps in the facilities and services as identified by the community consultation recently completed.
The Ballyfermot RAPID Programme and the Area Implementation are very grateful to the Minister for the status given to Ballyfermot and the support from his department and from the managing agency Pobal.
